Where It's Always July 4th, 1776!

Sponsored by Henry County Parks and Recreation

The day is July 4th, 1776.  Word has just come from Philadelphia that the Declaration of Independence was signed two days ago.  Tonight there will be great festivities and much merriment!

  • The 7th annual Georgia Independence Day Festival was our greatest success ever!  More than 16,000 people time traveled to 1776 to witness the moment when news of the signing of the Declaration of Independence reached Georgia. Visitors met General George Washington from Virginia and Doctor Franklin from Philadelphia. They witnessed a duel between British Captain Grayson and John Adams. All ended peacefully and we celebrated the birth of a new nation with a huge fireworks display!
  •  The 2009 Festival will be located in its new home at the historic Nash Farm in Hampton.    Nash Farm is located at 4361 Jonesboro Rd. Hampton, GA 30228
  • From I-75 take exit 221 (Jonesboro Rd./Lovejoy).  Travel west approximately 5 miles and turn left onto Babb's Mill Rd. Follow signs to parking lot.

  • Festival dates are Friday and Saturday, July 3rd and 4th with fireworks BOTH nights!  Hours are from 3PM till dark. For more information please contact John Gilbert, Founder and President of GIDF, Inc. at 770-337-1240.

The Georgia Independence Day Festival is held in loving memory of Angie Gilbert and all of those who love America and cherish freedom.

  • A special thanks to our patriotic sponsors!
